International Awareness and Involvement
The focus of the International Awareness thrust is on promoting a better understanding and deeper appreciation for the contributions and struggles of people and cultures different form one’s own. Programs include:
Seattle Limbe Sewing Circle
The Seattle Alumnae Chapter has partnered with the Seattle-Limbe Sewing Circle since it launched in 2015. It is a project of the Seattle-Limbe Sister City Association. Volunteers meet at First African Methodist Episcopal Church (FAME) to produce feminine care kits for schoolgirls in Cameroon. Chapter Sorors and community members meet on the 4th Saturday of Every Month from 8:30am - 2pm, cutting, stitching, ironing, and assembling colorful hand-sewn feminine care kits.
