Welcome to the website of the Seattle Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated - home to Bertha Pitts Campbell one of the twenty-two founding members of the sorority and Mona Humphries Bailey , 17th National President of the sorority.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is founded on the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, and service. We were founded by 22 African-American women who were committed and devoted to promoting academic excellence and to providing support to the underserved through the upliftment of their communities. Please peruse this site to gain information about the history and the programs of our chapter.

As a quick overview, Seattle Alumnae has a long history of pursuing the goals identified by our beloved Founders and maintained by our national Chapter. There has been a Delta chapter in the city of Seattle for 75 years and we are very proud to be continuing the tradition of service. In fact, we have programs that have reached almost every point of the Seattle community. Some of our outstanding programs (past and present) include Delta Academy - a program designed to promote self-esteem among junior-high school students; International Projects - the chapter works to support local schools in Ghana, Swaziland, and Botswana by supplying educational supplies; Senior Citizen Program - a program providing companionship and continuing education to senior citizens and the Bertha Pitts Campbell Scholarship - annual scholarship awards granted to graduating high school seniors.

As you move through this site you will note that our primary focus has always been and always will be providing service to our community. We are also committed to addressing the national agenda of our larger political world and keeping the concerns of our Sorority as part of our sociopolitical dialogue and actions. Over the years, many organizations, corporations and individual donors have provided financial support to allow us to do our work in the community and we are thankful for this support. To all of you who have supported us through the years, thank you and we look forward to your continued support. Currently our chapter focus is in the area of education. We have adopted Madrona K-8 School and are working in partnership with the staff and parents as they work to increase the academic achievement of their students.

We encourage you to explore the site to view the specific details regarding our programs and our chapter.

Warm Regards,
